I was excited to get a mini grant from the West Springfield Partnership for Education. This grant is for our Math Night next year. The title is Turkey in the Straw! I have lots of fun ideas planned for the event. Did everyone else get the grants they applied for?
Sounds fun. It should be run like field day was, which went very smoothly. Each class creates a game using different math topics on the turkey in the straw theme. Kids get a sense of ownership and may even improve attendance.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! It feels like an "Inquiry" project in the making! I love the idea of the kids having input in designing, creating or setting up math activities around a concept they are learning about!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea Amy. Diane, thanks for your support and help you are always willing to give. I could even give each classroom a budget to work with. We can pass the FLIP cam around and record as we go!! We have a very exciting year ahead of us. I can hardly wait!
